Crazy Cool Social Media Stats

So, I just finished reading this very cool report by @Mike_Stelzner that he wrote back in March of this year. It’s got some very insightful statistics regarding social media and being since I recently launched my social media implementation and management program, just had to share some of them with you.

- A significant 88% of marketers surveyed are using social media to market their businesses, BUT 72% have only been doing so for a few months or less.

- The top benefit of social media marketing: The number-one advantage is generating exposure for the business, indicated 81% of all marketers, followed by increasing traffic and building new business partnerships.

– People aged 30 to 39 years were most likely to use social media marketing (92.8%).

- About one in two marketers found social media generated qualified leads.

- At least 2 in 3 participants found that increased traffic occurred with as little as 6 hours a week invested in social media marketing. And those who have been doing this for years reported even better results.

– By a long shot, Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn and Facebook were the top four social media tools used by marketers, with Twitter leading the pack.
