The Deadly Problem With Focusing Too Much On Facebook

Not having a Facebook page is almost like not having a website. In today’s World of social media, you want to be where your customers are and chances are, they’re on Facebook. While having a page is great, there is a new problem that’s creeping up.

According to some stats posted by USA Today, more companies are neglecting a blog and instead focusing more on a Facebook page. This is a problem for a couple reasons which we dive into below:

Thanks to Augie Ray and Eric Andersen for bringing this to my attention.

@eric_andersen @mikestenger Video not captioned, but I agree with Mike that companies shouldn't trade blog for Facebook.

Good thoughts!

So my comment isn't going to be so much about the topic (though I agree) but more about your video. LOL. What program did you use to create your video intro and add your face to the subtitle?

@mandeewidrick Actually, it was pretty easy creating the video intro. I've got a piece of software called Camtasia which is basically a screen capture program. What I did was put my logo and whatnot in powerpoint, added some effects, and recorded the screen.

To get my logo on videos, I use Sony Vegas Home Studio.
